About the Canadian Polyurea and Coatings Association
Canada’s national voice for the polyurea and protective coatings industry. Advancing technical standards, growing professional competency, and advocating for an industry that protects Canada’s infrastructure.
Our Mission
The Canadian Polyurea and Coatings Association (CPCA) exists to advance the polyurea and protective coatings industry in Canada through education, standards development, professional certification, and industry advocacy. We connect applicators, suppliers, manufacturers, specifiers, and end-users in a community committed to technical excellence and industry growth.
Founded in the early 2010s by a group of pioneering polyurea applicators who recognized the need for a Canadian industry voice, CPCA has grown from a handful of founding members to a national organization representing over 247 companies across all ten provinces and three territories. Our members range from sole-operator contractors to multi-rig regional companies, equipment distributors, raw material suppliers, and research institutions.
What We Do
Technical Standards and Education
CPCA’s Technical Committee develops and maintains application standards and best practices specific to Canadian conditions — climate extremes, unique substrate types, provincial regulatory requirements, and the applications that dominate the Canadian market. These are published as free resources in our Industry Resources library and distributed through the Polyurea Insider newsletter.
Applicator Certification
CPCA’s Applicator Certification Program sets the Canadian standard for polyurea spray technician competency. The program covers polyurea chemistry, surface preparation, equipment operation, quality assurance, safety, and environmental compliance. Certification is recognized by municipal procurers, provincial transportation departments, and major industrial clients as evidence of qualified applicator status.

Chapter Network and Events
CPCA’s twelve regional chapters organize local technical meetings, workshops, and networking events for members across Canada. From the BC Chapter’s Burnaby technical seminars to the MB/SK Chapter’s agricultural focus days, chapter events bring industry knowledge to local markets. See the Events & Meetings Calendar for upcoming events near you.
The National Conference
Each fall, CPCA hosts the Canadian Polyurea and Coatings National Conference — the industry’s premier event bringing together 300+ professionals from across the country for three days of technical content, business development sessions, and networking. The 2026 National Conference takes place October 15–17 in Calgary.
Market Intelligence and Advocacy
CPCA monitors legislative and regulatory developments that affect members, provides market intelligence through our annual reports and surveys, and advocates with federal and provincial governments on issues affecting the industry. Our Canadian Polyurea Market Outlook is the definitive reference for industry growth projections.
